LinuxWorld Announces 2008 Product Excellence Awards
IDG World Expo recogizes some top products at this year's LinuxWorld show in San Fransisco.
LinuxWorld.com and IDG World Expo announced the 2008 winners of the LinuxWorld Product Excellence awards. The awards recognize product and service innovations by LinuxWorld and Next-Generation Data Center Conference and Expo exhibitors.
This year's Best of Show award goes to the GoGrid cloud computing system. Ubuntu Desktop Edition 8.04 LTS takes the award for Best Desktop Solution. The prize for Best Integration Solution goes to the OpenBravo Network, and Ingres CAFE (Consolidated Application Foundation for Eclipse) wins the award for Best Development Tool.

Best Business Application: xTuple ERP 3.0
Best Clustering or Grid Solution: DataSynapse Fabric Server 2.6
Most Innovative Hardware Solution: Violin Memory's Violin 1010 with 1 million IOPS Linux Driver
Best Messaging Solution: Barracuda Message Archiver 850
Best Mobility Solution: Unicon Systems Hermes Mobile Platform
Best Security Solution: Trusted Computer Solutions Security Blanket Enterprise
Best System Management Tool: Altinity Opsview v2.12
Best Virtualization Solution: Pivot 3 Serverless Computing
According to LinuxWorld.com editor and Product Excellence awards judge Don Marti, the quality and variety of products in this year's competition, "...demonstrates the high level of system administration productivity happening throughout the industry."
