Ubuntu Women: How I Discovered Ubuntu Contest

ROSE Blog: Rikki's Open Source Exchange
Elizabeth Krumbach wrote a blog post about the Ubuntu Women contest – How I discovered Ubuntu – in honor of International Women's Day. The winner will be announced on International Women's Day, March 8, 2010.
In her blog post Elizabeth also discusses the community longevity meme and how intimidating or discouraging it can be to someone who is newer to the open source community. She says, "I seek to encourage all women to contribute to this contest, even if they don’t feel like they have enough “geek cred” or whatever. Oh, and stories from hard core geek girls are completely welcome, those stories are inspiring too!"
Check out Amber Graner's Ubuntu User blog for additional details about the contest. Deadline for submissions is February 22, 2010 (UTC 23:59). Amber says that prize packs include Ubuntu backpacks, women's t-shirts, key chains, a 1-year digital subscription to Linux Pro Magazine or a 1-year print subscription to Ubuntu User, and a copy of Jono Bacon's Book Art of Community.
