Sabayon 15.09 and Mageia 5 KDE4
Sabayon 15.09 (64-bit)
Named after the French word for the airy Italian dessert zabaglione, Sabayon [1] endeavors to deliver the best out-of-the-box functionality in a distro. Sabayon is based on the highly customizable Gentoo Linux and uses the Entropy (preferred) [2] and Portage [3] package managers. The Sabayon developers aim to provide a "complete computing experience" that is both stable and reliable, with pre-installed media codecs, drivers, and games. New versions are released often, and the installed distro is easy to keep up to date with the current version. This offering sports the MATE desktop, a continuation of Gnome 2. No password is required to run your Live version: Just press the Enter key.
Mageia 5 KDE4 (32-bit)
Mageia [4] began in 2010 as a fork of Mandriva Linux; the Live version on this DVD ships with kernel 3.19, bears the KDE desktop [5], and now supports installation on UEFI machines. The distro uses the GRUB 2 bootloader; ext4 is the default filesystem, although Btrfs is also supported. Package management is via the Urpmi command-line tool or the rpmdrake GUI. A number of new and updated games and new media software were added to Mageia 5.
