The page is a great starting point and touches on topics such as what kinds of jobs are available, how to get started, job security and salaries, and how to prepare for a career in IT. The article includes a quote by Vidya Ayer, which illustrates a cultural reason that it's harder for women in India to get involved with computing. On July 1, Barbara Liskov was named an Institute Professor – the highest faculty rank – at MIT. In 1972, Liskov became the first woman hired as a professor of computer science at MIT. Stormy Peters announced on her OpenLogic blog that she accepted the Executive Director position with the GNOME Foundation.
